Moreover, Charles’ first known wife, Hanna “Nancy” Ann Routt, (1770– ~1810) whom he married c. 1790 in Kentucky,  was the mother of their ten sons born between 1791 and 1805. Hannah is believed to have died by 1808,  some three decades before Hiram was born.  Her widower, Charles, married next to Peggy Mountjoy born in 1787 but who died a year after her marriage to him.
